ECOFACT Launches Digital Educational Kit with First Training Workshop in Aguilar del Campoo, Spain

In April 2024, ECOFACT proudly launched its inaugural workshop on “ECOFACT Digital Educational Kit” during its 7th General Assembly, held in the picturesque town of Aguilar del Campoo, Spain, on April 17th. This milestone event brought together representatives from all project partners, including demo sites Arçelik (Ulmi, Romania), Athenian Brewery (Thessaloniki, Greece), Tofas (Bursa, Turkey), and the host, Gullon (Aguilar de Campoo, Spain).

The workshop, spearheaded by CIRCE and Irish Manufacturing Research, aims to disseminate project knowledge through structured training activities. The new digital educational kit, developed with input from technical partners, includes eight comprehensive modules designed to educate diverse audiences on ECOFACT’s innovations. This kit will be deployed in workshops across ECOFACT’s pre-demo and demo sites.

The training program focuses on expanding knowledge through a well-structured educational kit that outlines the procedures and materials necessary for effective training. The training’s key components include the implementation of the training plan, built on the protocol developed in one of the previous deliverables (D9.9); the program structure and the kit breakdown, tailored for different target groups to ensure effective knowledge transfer. It includes:

  • Training Materials: Manuals, guides, and online resources detailing ECOFACT principles and implementation cases, publicly accessible for self-paced learning.
  • Training Lessons: Available on the ECOFACT website, these self-training modules provide deep insights into the platform’s technology and applications.
  • Workshops: Sessions introducing ECOFACT’s concepts, energy efficiency principles, and practical applications in various manufacturing industries.

Module Highlights:

  • Module 1: Introduction: Overview of the project’s goals, activities, and demo cases.
  • Module 2: Manufacturing Sectors: Energy consumption trends and solutions for reducing energy use in different sectors.
  • Module 3: Environmental Assessment Tools: Introduction to Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Life Cycle Costing (LCC).
  • Module 4: Energy Optimization Tools: Key principles and tools for enhancing energy efficiency.
  • Module 5: ECOFACT Platform – Concepts: Understanding the platform’s architecture and functionalities.
  • Module 6: ECOFACT Platform – Adoption: Installation and use case demonstrations.
  • Module 7: Platform Replication: Application of the ECOFACT platform in other sectors.
